Dr. Anke Sessler
Independent Arbitrator
Anke Sessler is one of Germany’s best-known arbitration experts, with more than 25 years of experience as an arbitrator and counsel.
Experienced. Competent. Independent.
Anke Sessler acts as an arbitrator worldwide and in accordance with the rules of all major arbitration institutions, and has gained experience across many sectors. She has particular expertise in post-M&A and joint venture disputes, supply chain and energy sector disputes, as well as in antitrust and company law disputes, including directors’ liability.
Anke Sessler has a 360-degree perspective on arbitration. She was a partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Clifford Chance for more than 20 years. As Chief Counsel Litigation, she established the disputes department at Siemens AG, which she headed for several years. Since 2026, she has practised as an arbitrator in her own practice and is therefore entirely independent of the conflicts of interest inherent in large law firms.
Anke Sessler is familiar with all forms of alternative dispute resolution and has been accredited as a mediator by CEDR.
